The Drivers directory  contains drivers for several of Tahoma Technology's board level interface products for the SunOS, Solaris (Sparc and x86), HPUX, and Linux operating systems.  Tahoma Technology includes source code with all drivers.  Refer to Driver Installation for instructions on downloading and installing drivers.

Software for the internal network print server used in the 10121 Ethernet/VPI Converter (similar to the Axis 5400+) can be found on the Axis website: www.axis.com.  Software for the Axis 5400+ and SEH PS105 external print servers commonly used with the 10120 IEEE1284/VPI Converter may be found at their respective websites: www.axis.com and www.seh-technology.com.

• NOTE:  10117 and 10118 boards MUST have a PLX 9080 Pci interface chip installed to function correctly with Solaris x86, HPUX, and Linux 2.4 and later.  Earlier versions of the boards do not support the required DMA chaining mode.

SunOS drivers are available for the Model 10103 Sbus DR11-W emulator, and the 10104, 10105, and 10106 Sbus hardcopy interfaces (for Versatec differential, Versatec TTL, and Centronics compatible applications, respectively).  "Versatec" refers to Versatec, VPI, and Xerox ColorgrafX, and compatible printers and plotters.

Solaris drivers are available for the 10103, 10104, 10105, and 10106 Sbus boards, and for the 10117 Pci hardcopy interface (for Versatec Differential and Centronics applications), and 10118 Pci DR11-W emulator.  Solaris 7 drivers are also compatible with Solaris 8.  Solaris 7 & 8 drivers support both 32 and 64 bit SPARC kernels.

HPUX drivers (both 9.x and earlier, and 10.x and later) are available for the Model 10111 ISA/EISA hardcopy interface (for Versatec differential, Versatec TTL, and Centronics applications).  10.x and 11.x drivers are available for the 10117 Pci hardcopy interface.

• NOTE:  The file !ikn1110.cfg used with some versions of the HPUX driver is stored on the ftp site without the leading "!".  Change the filename to add the "!" before installing the driver.  This file is necessary when installing the ISA/EISA driver(s).

Linux drivers for versions 2.0, 2.2, and 2.4 are available (as of this writing) for the 10117 Pci Hardcopy interface and 10118 Pci DR11-W emulator.

Solaris Note:

We have reports that the 10116 and 10118 PCI DR11 boards may experience intermittent errors when running in some Sun SPARC machines (SunBlade 1500, 2500, V440 and possibly others).  The exact cause is yet to be determined, but a modified driver that works around the problem is available.  Follow the Solaris 7 link Solaris 7 -> pci -> sparc -> packages and download and install the pci_idr_sparc_S8_2004.05.21.0942.Z compressed driver package.  The idr.loop.test program may be used in loopback mode to demonstrate the errors and the fix.  The modified driver may be used with any SPARC machine - whether or not it experiences these errors.  It has been tested with Solars 8 and 9.

pci_ihcp_sparc_S8_2004.05.27.1415.Z is the Solaris SPARC hardcopy driver for the 10115 and 10117 boards, with similar modifications.

We have no reports of problems with the hardcopy driver, and the DR11 problems have only shown up at a single customer site.  Neither Tahoma nor Sun has been able to reproduce the problems.  Until the cause of the problem is isolated, identified, and corrected, these modified drivers are provided as a work-around for customers that experience intermittent errors.  These drivers are suitable for use in any SPARC machine running Solaris 8 or later, but are not necessary in a system that is not experiencing problems.
